Micronutrients are those elements essential for plant growth which are needed in very small (micro) quantities. There are 6 essential micronutrients: Boron (B), Zinc (Zn), Manganese (Mn), Iron (Fe), copper (Cu), molybdenum (Mo). They constitute in total less than 1% of the dry weight of most plants.
Micronutrient | Function | |
---|---|---|
Boron | (B) | Stops flower & fruit drop & increases yield. |
Zinc | (Zn) | Produces hormones in the crops & enhances flowering. |
Manganese | (Mn) | Increases chlorophyll & stimulates bio-chemical activities in the plant. |
Iron | (Fe) | Increases chlorophyll contents & plant food production. |
Copper | (Cu) | Increases chlorophyll contents & improves the health of the crops. |
Molybdenum | (Mo) | Nitrogen stabilization and increases proteins. |
